April Newsletter                                 

  The Borough is attempting to publish a quarterly news letter for its residents. The Newsletter will tell of events in and around our neighborhood.  The first edition will be distributed by the USPS , this and subsequent editions will be posted at the Borough Hall and on our website.

 

Recycling at Berwick Test Track Park         

  The Borough of Berwick has offered the residents of Briar Creek Borough the privilege of dropping off our recyclables at the compost site located in Test Track Park. 

  The site will be open every Tuesday and the hours for Recycling Drop-off are 1:00pm – 5:00pm from November – March. From April – October, the hours will be from 3:00pm – 7:00pm.

  The Compost Site is located in the Test Track off South Eaton Street which is the road that goes between K-Mart and the cemetery. Enter the Test Track by making a left into the gated area and keep right, the Compost Site is located in the top corner of the park.

  

                               Accepted Materials at the Site Include:

Clear, brown, & green glass   - Aluminum cans - PETE # 1 Plastic bottles -   HDPE # 2 Plastic bottles

Steel food cans -   Office Paper -   Corrugated Paper -   Newspapers - Glossy magazines and Chip Board.

 

                                                        Plastics #3 -#7

Containers such as cool whip tubs, butter tubs, oil or anti-freeze bottles, Styrofoam, plastics bags, travel mugs, Tupperware, T.V. Dinner Trays, and yogurt containers CANNOT be accepted.

             Brush and grass clipping will be accepted with a $ fee.  See attendant for details.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day at Ber-Vaughn Park          

April 18, 2009, 10am to 1pm.  Bring the family to Ber-Vaughn Park for a day filled with fitness inspired activities that will leave your children excited about exercise.

Activities will include inflatable obstacle course, moon bounce, and sumo wrestling suits.  Pass and Kick with Berwick Football coach Gary Campbell.  Enjoy a visit from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Dept., munch on healthy snacks from Berwick Hospital, and so much more.

 

Flea Market at the Borough Hall   

On May 16, 2009 there will be a flea market inside the Borough Hall and 15 vender tables will be available to rent.  Contact Bea Long at 759-0409 for more info.
